April 29
Cali thoroughly enjoys life especially when it involves play. From the time Cali leaves her kennel in the morning until she goes to bed at night, her days are filled with play. Cali’s favorite time of day is the morning. Kim is an early riser. Kim gets up, lets Cali out of her kennel, gives her food, and then plays with her. I am not an early riser. I am what you would call a morning slug. It takes me awhile to even know what planet I am on much less tackle the day with enthusiasm. Even though Kim gets up with Cali, Cali can not wait for me to come outside. She knows that I am the one who will give her treats, throw her rubber bone, and take her on a run. Cali will squeal with excitement when she sees me. Cali completely flips out when sees my hydration pack, running shoes, and her leash. I am not sure whether excitement at that level is even good for a dog. 2 Samuel 6:14 states, “And David was dancing before the Lord with all his might…” (NAS). King David brought the ark of the Lord to Jerusalem and was dancing before the Lord. David was experiencing utmost joy. The ark of the Lord symbolized God’s presence among the Israelites and David understood that God’s presence meant peace for Israel. Sometimes we tend to forget that God wants us to experience Him and that His presence will lead to peace and to the joys of play.
