One rule I had for Cali when she first came to live with us was not to get up on the couch. From the picture, you can see how fast that rule went by the wayside. I enjoy watching Cali sleep. She has a posture that demonstrates total and complete peace.
Philippians 4:11 states, “…For I have learned how to be content with whatever I have” (NLT). Whether Cali sleeps on the couch, her bed, the cement patio, or behind some bush, she exudes contentment and trust.
I would encourage you to practice contentment in your current situation. The Apostle Paul gave us the formula for contentment when he said, “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus” (NLT).
Learn to communicate with God; pour out your heart’s desire to Him; and thank Him for what He has done for you. Let God give you rest on His couch and may you experience the peace that only He can give.
