September 4-Time Can Heal Wounds

My son Jared, Cali, and I went on a mountain bike trip today in Lytle Creek. This has been the first outing since Cali and Kirby (Cali’s best friend) parted ways the other day. We rode to Cali’s favorite spot on the trail, the watering hole. Cali likes to walk in the water and drink to her heart’s content. It was fun to see Cali having so much fun despite not having her best friend around.

Before Jesus’ crucifixion, He told His disciples, “I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of truth…” (NAS-John 14: 16-17).

When we ask Jesus to come into our lives and to save us from our sins, Jesus not only washes us from all unrighteousness but, He gives us His Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit imparts peace and comfort during trials and separations.

Sometimes, the Holy Spirit works through time. If a separation from a friend or loved one has broken your heart, ask the Holy Spirit to comfort you and to give you the strength and peace to allow time to heal your wounds.
