April 5
I have had Cali for about two months, and we are training each other very well. I like to take her running on a trail we have in the city. It was originally the Pacific-Electric rail system and it had two parallel tracks running through various cities. Several of the neighboring cities have converted the tracks into a running, walking, and biking corridor. One path is cemented while the other path is hardened dirt. Between the two parallel paths is a rocky section about 25 feet wide. Whenever we approach another owner and their dog, I gently guide Cali’s leash to the left and I say, “rocks, rocks” and she obediently moves over to the rocky area. Cali is learning to stay on the rocks until we pass the potential hazard. Do you find it difficult to live outside your comfort zone? Whenever obstacles keep us from a routine, a plan, or the comforts of life, do you find yourself anxious, upset, or just downright annoyed? Psalm 119:105 states, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (NAS). Next time you find that life has disrupted your comfort zone, listen closely-God may be saying, “rocks, rocks.”
Blessings,
Mervin
