Quietness

March 25

I was walking my dog this morning and she was using a tremendous amount of energy to pull me ahead. She is a German Shepherd mix and is a very powerful dog-beautiful but powerful. I thought how much energy she was wasting since I did not allow her to go any faster than I was walking. By the end of our walk it made me wonder how often we try to pull ourselves ahead of life and ahead of God's plan only to get frustrated and tired. Maybe we can take this time of indoor quarantine and allow God to slow us down and to reflect upon His goodness and to praise Him for what He has planned for us. Maybe we have been pulling on our leash too hard. Psalm 46:1-3 states, God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear, though the earth should change and though the mountains should slip into the sea; though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains quake at its swelling pride." Let God minister to you today in a spirit of quietness.
