I was at my mother-in-law’s house today trimming a massive Evergreen Ash. I have worked on this tree numerous times and yet there is always more to cut. Kim and I decided to bring Cali with us. Kim’s mom has a large yard with many places to explore. Cali was in her element. She ran, sniffed, and ran some more. This was the second time Cali had been to the house, so the experience was somewhat new to her. She had so much fun. Even though the yard is gated, people stopped to wish Cali a good day. They seemed to ignore the guy in the tree. Have you ever noticed how people will pass you on the sidewalk and say high to your dog and act as though you do not exist? Unfortunately, I have also been at fault with that one. Anyway, Cali was experiencing some thing new and so was I. It had been awhile since I had climbed this tree, so I spent a lot of time planning my route. By the end of the day, both Cali and I decided the day was a success. Cali made friends and I cut some large branches. New experiences are always a challenge. We can make the effort to meet the challenge head on or we can decide to ignore it. Isaiah 43:19 states, “For I am about to do something new. See I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland (NLT). If you feel that God is giving you a new opportunity, I suggest that you go for it. Perhaps, God is taking you out on a limb.
