June 25-I Ate My Bone

Kim’s mom, Alice, brought Cali a big ham bone yesterday. Cali spent most of the day chomping and chewing it from end to end. By the end of the day, the bone was gone. Today, Cali had to settle for plain old dog food. I am certain Cali expected another bone and probably waited all day for a new one to appear in her dog dish. Unfortunately, her wishes did not materialize.

Psalm 23:5 states, “you prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You have anointed my head with oil; My cup overflow” (NAS). Whenever a meal is prepared for a guest, the host makes sure all the food is adequate, nutritional, and satisfying. God also invites us to feast at His table. As a host, He sees to it that His food is adequate, nutritional, and satisfying.

Since God is good, we can trust Him to always meet our needs. If we ever find something missing at God’s table, chances are He knew it was not good for us. Feast at God’s table and never worry about Him running out of food. God will always give you another bone.
