July 8-A Cool Pool of Water

Cali and I ran a rocky road this morning. Dry brush lined the sides of the canyon and the rocks gave little padding to our feet. We had run a couple miles when we made a turn in the road. To Cali’s delight, a small pool of water awaited her. The water dribbled out from the side of a slope and formed a small pool at the base. The bushes near the pool were green and the little oasis looked somewhat out of place amid our dry and dusty road. Cali drank the cool water which renewed energy.

Do you feel as though you are running on life’s dry and dusty road? I would encourage you to keep moving forward. Psalm 107:35 states, “But he also turns deserts into pools of water, the dry land into springs of water” (NAS). God sees your life’s journey and He knows you are tired and thirsty.

Had Cali and I turned around before spotting the pool, we would have missed what the dry and dusty road had to offer. Do not give up on life or turn back to bad habits. Trust God to have a cool pool of water waiting for you just around the corner.
