July 6-An Uphill Climb

Cali wanted to explore a side slope during one of our hikes in Lytle Creek. She ran off the road and up the side toward some bushes that possibly held soft treasures. The rocky hillside steepened too much, and she aborted her mission and decided to come back down. Once on the trail, we continued to explore our road that twisted and turned through the canyon.

I wonder what Cali might have found had she pursued her trek up the mountainside. Perhaps, Cali would have found a lizard to chase, a squirrel to pounce on, or a soft bunny to chase.

Life can often take us on a rocky, uphill journey. Do you feel that way right now? Do you feel like giving up and returning to the easy road below? I would encourage you not to give up.

Psalm 126:6 states, He who goes to and fro weeping, carrying his bag of seed, shall indeed come again with a shout of joy, bringing his sheaves with him” (NAS). You might feel like aborting your mission due to the rocky slopes. Stay faithful in your ministry and press on with your journey. Trust God and continue your uphill climb.
