July 4-Sharing a Dog Bed

Kirby came over yesterday to play with Cali and to celebrate the 4th of July. They had a wonderful time chasing each other, wrestling, and gnawing on a juicy ham bone. I am rather amazed at how well Kirby and Cali share their toys and dog bowls.

Toward evening, after a full day of play and food, the dogs decided to settle down for a rest. Cali graciously shared her favorite dog bed with Kirby and they both nestled down on their separate halves.

Hebrews 13:16 states, “And do not neglect doing good and sharing, for with such sacrifices God is pleased” (NAS). Have you ever ignored someone in need? Have you ever passed that stalled car on the street and deliberately looked the other way, walked a little faster to get into a restaurant before someone else, or grabbed the last item on a shelf before that person behind you reached for it? I think we all have done something like that from time to time.

We need to remember that it pleases God’s heart whenever we share with someone else. Next time you see a person in need, listen carefully. God might be whispering for you to share your dog bed.
