July 30-A Shady Place

I was playing with Cali in the backyard this morning. I have noticed that Cali’s energy levels have lessened during these hot summer days. She will go after her toy bone a few times and then want to lay down in the shade. Actually, I am rather glad to see Cali act this way since I have felt less energetic myself (ok-now is not the time for old guy jokes).

Do you feel lethargic, less apt to do things, or just lazy? I think, perhaps, we have all been feeling this way. Our symptoms could be related to heat, COVID, or news burn-out. Whatever the reason, Psalm 23:2-3 states, “He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul…” (NAS).

Ask God to give you green pastures today. Your pastures might be a time-out on the couch, a coffee hide-a-way, or a lounge chair on the patio. Where ever it is, take time to go there and reflect on God’s goodness. God has always been faithful to you and He will not let you down now. Go ahead-find your shady place.
