Cali’s energy had run out for the day and she finally collapsed on the floor with her much-loved toy. Cali has a toy dog she loves to chew and carry with her. She has had the dog for about a month and has kept it in perfect condition. The dog is soft, and it fits her mouth perfectly. As Cali laid on the floor, she had the comfort of knowing her favorite soft, chew toy was nearby. She was at peace with herself, the family, and the world (oh brother).
Galatians 5:22 states, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, and peace…” (NAS). Dogs have a way of sleeping peacefully. They live in the moment and any cares or concerns of the day instantly vanish when they lay down.
God desires for us to have this kind of peace. Are you worried, anxious, or feeling restless? Lay down tonight and let the peace of God comfort you. God is with you as you sleep. Let Him take your cares of the day. Lay down tonight and let God comfort you with a soft, peaceful chew toy.
