Cali has two favorite toys, a rubber bone, and a toy dog. The rubber bone looks old and the squeaker does not work. The toy dog’s fur is thin, and the stuffing is coming out. To Cali, the toys are like new and her enjoyment has not faded from either one.
Isaiah 40:29 states, “He gives strength to the weary, and to him who lacks might He increases power” (NAS). Do you feel like Cali’s worn out toys? Have you worked so hard at something and lost your strength to keep on going? God promises to give strength to the weary. Sometimes that strength comes in the form of taking time for a nap, visiting a friend, or even planning a vacation. Other times God’s strength comes from reading His word, or from the advice of an unexpected source.
If you feel like a worn-out toy and your stuffing is coming out, ask God to renew your strength. He has a way of restoring worn-out toys.
