Cali and I work as a team when getting ready for our walks. Cali’s part is showing over-the-top enthusiasm while my part is trying to hook her leash and open the gate. We have learned to pace ourselves once the gate is open. Cali takes off and I fly like a kite behind her.
Cali was hot and tired after this morning’s walk. She took a long nap and then enjoyed the air-conditioned house for most of the day. By early evening, Cali’s energy had returned, and I decided it was time for another walk. Cali was not expecting a walk so I surprised her with the leash. She was ecstatic-two walks in one day!
Matthew 7:7 states, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you” (NAS). Have you ever felt vain in asking God for something special? Are your requests only for the most pious of things? God enjoys giving us surprises and He enjoys making us happy. Do not shy away from asking God for small pleasures. Do you need an extra special treat in your life? Go ahead and ask God for it. He would be delighted to hear your request and then take you on a second walk.
