April 10
I was walking Cali the other day and we passed a dead possum (opossum). At least, I thought it was dead. Cali wanted to investigate-it looked disgusting. I jerked Cali’s leash to get her away from the disease infested rodent. I’m sure Cali was thinking, “Hey what’s up?” On the way back, the possum was still there. In fact, a few days later it was still there, so I was pretty sure the possum was dead. As I was pulling Cali away from it, I’m thinking, “Why doesn’t somebody get rid of this thing?” Of course-I guess-I’m somebody, right? Well anyway, a few days later somebody did take care of it and I had no more problems with Cali. Have you ever felt drawn to the world’s pleasures, advertisements, fun, literature, TV programs, etc.? I am sure we all have felt the worldly pull at one time or another. 1 Corinthians 10:13 states, “No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.” Next time you feel yourself falling into worldly temptations, take heed, you may be picking up a possum.
Blessings,
Mervin
