A Dog's Life

I am always amazed by Cali’s energy every morning as she dashes out of her kennel to embrace the world. Cali loves sleeping outside. She can hardly wait to run into her kennel each night and will often bring a toy with her. Her kennel is very fluffy and soft. She has a way of making it look so comfortable that I am tempted to climb in and try it. By morning, however, she is ready to tackle the world. Cali will race out of her kennel, squeak with delight, grab some bone, and want to play chase. Her enthusiasm is contagious. I can not help but smile and laugh at the pleasure she has for life. For Cali, every day is new and filled with adventure. Psalm 118:24 states, “This is the day which the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it” (NAS). The Bible tells us that God watches over us, that He loves us, and that He has our best interest in mind. The best way to begin each morning is to praise God for all He has done, what He is doing, and what He will do for each one of us. Despite our circumstances in life, we can always find a reason to rejoice. The Jews celebrated a feast each year called the Feast of Tabernacles. During this week-long feast, they were to make huts out of tree branches. They were to live in these huts for one week. I suppose it was much like a camping trip. During the week, they were to remember how God provided for them during the 40 years of wandering in the wilderness. The Feast of Tabernacles was a time to reflect upon God’s protection, his provision, and His care. Why not start each day with an attitude of reflection and praise? Your kennel has an open door-go and embrace the world today.
