April 15-A Cement Mow Strip
Cali has overcome the temptation of running toward people and greeting them during our walks and runs. I exercise her frequently on a trail that runs through our city. The trail has a cement section and a hard dirt section. I tend to run her on the hard dirt side since this puts less stress on knees and paws. I like to run or walk Cali on my right side to keep her away from oncoming foot traffic. At the edge of the dirt, there is a low cement mow strip that defines the trail. Whenever we approach a runner or walker, Cali has learned to cross over the mow strip and off the trail. 1st Corinthians 10:13 states, “No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it (NAS).” Whenever you feel tempted by the evils of this world, remember there is a mow strip by your side and God is gently leading you across it.
